We were incredibly disappointed that Waverley District Council felt it necessary to remove our yellow direction signs that have guided visitors to our unique museum for over 15 years without any form of complaint.
These signs were pulled up by Mid Sussex Council just after Remembrance Sunday which in itself demonstrated the lack of understanding to the cause. Often described as a “hidden gem” by visitors it is a challenge for people to find the museum which is located in a rather remote location.
It was disappointing for us having done so much voluntary work with local schools that this step was taken by The Planning Enforcement Team at Mid Sussex District Council which has caused the museum a loss of important revenue.
On a more positive note we have applied for official Brown Tourist Signs and we remain positive that the council will support us in this new application, we will keep you posted on this in future Newsletters.
